Our team arrived at the Fountain Blue Hotel in Matagalpa about 11:00 pm Nica time (Look us on on Google Earth). Our team takes up the whole hotel - filling every room with couples or groups of guys or gals. We have a large covered outdoor gathering space that makes for wonderful conversations. We will eat our meals and share our stories and listen to God's voice and laugh alot in this space over the coming week. This will become a holy space.
The hotel sits on the main river that runs through Matagalpa. I'm sure this once was a pristine mountain river, but now it reminds us of the need for fresh water for many of our friends who live here.
We have 2 hotel proprietors who speak only spanish. They give us an opportunity to learn Spanish and be the presence of Jesus even in our home space.
There are beautiful flowering plants everywhere in the hotel. This morning I saw a hummingbird feeding as I sat waiting for the hotel to awake.
This is our home. This is where God will gather us, prepare us and send us out. Thanks be to God.
